JACK BORRUS and Martin Goldin founded this law firm in 1962. In addition to being an excellent attorney, Jack Borrus was an incredible mentor, friend, and person. Although he is dearly missed, his impact on this law firm and the surrounding community will be felt for years to come. Mr. Borrus received his B.S. degree, cum laude, from Columbia University and graduated from Columbia University Law School. He received his Master of Laws degree from New York University in federal taxation. He served in the Courts and Boards section of the U.S. Army. He was admitted to the New York and New Jersey Bars, the United States Tax Court, and the United States Supreme Court. Mr. Borrus was law clerk to the Honorable Edward Gaulkin, J.A.D. He served as action magistrate in New Brunswick and as Middlesex County Assistant Prosecutor from 1964 to 1967. Mr. Borrus was a lecturer in the Skills and Methods course for the Institute of Continuing Legal Education for estate planning and corporation law. Mr. Borrus served as Special Counsel to the General Assembly of New Jersey, and was Chairman of the Middlesex County Ethics Committee and the Middlesex County Judicial Selection Committee. He was the CoChairman of the New Jersey Corporate Law Revision Commission and was a member of the New Jersey Bar Association Judicial and Prosecutors Appointment Committee, which reviews judges and prosecutors appointments under a special compact with the Governor. Mr. Borrus was a member of the American Trial Lawyers Association.
